Where do you find the most important spot in the church? Not all agree, but the Word indicates that the pulpit holds this distinction. Why? It's because "...faith comes from hearing, and hearing comes by the Word of God..." (Romans 10:17) The proclamation of God's Word, then, is the single most important activity in the church, and the principle reason for the existence of the church. God's appointed servant in the pulpit shoulders an awsome responsibility, as well as carries an incredible possibility of reward and immeasurable joy.
