"FROM THE OLD HOME PLACE "
Crazy run-around life ...
As you can observe,
we’ve been gone for a while. These have been really busy
days, but at the same time, days that have produced fruit for the
Kingdom. In January, we participated in our annual mission meeting, and
immediately afterwards, we went downtown São Paulo to
perform a wedding for a young man of our church. Now they are active in
the congregation, and promise great things for the future. Practically
the whole month of February was invested in preparation for our Jubilee
celebration of 50 years of FWB missions activity in Brazil. There were
three multimedia presentations that had to be prepared, one of which
will be presented at the West Virginia State FWB association meeting in
June of this year. These require an amazing amount of time for each
one. March has been a month of seeing all of this preparation time come
together! Dave and Pat Franks returned for the Jubilee, and were
honored in the Belo congregation where they had invested many years of
hard but fruitful labor. Then all together in Campinas, we celebrated
along with more than 450 who have been won to Christ. We also have
baptized, dedicated babies, welcomed new members and married young
couples. And then once in a while someone will ask, “Just
what it is that missionaries do all day?” I tell our people
here that I especially love to baptize, dedicate babies and do weddings
because all three represent the beginning of new life! You want to
know? I actually LOVE this crazy “run-around” life!
If I didn’t have this, I would be bored out of my mind! Oh,
by the way, what is it that YOU do all day?
